Artificially Enhanced: Sometimes given growth hormones to accelerate maturity. Routinely given antibiotics and steroids.

Naturally Raised: No antibiotics, steroids, preservatives, additives or growth hormones.

Confined Conditions: Ewes and lambs are usually raised in small, controlled and fenced paddocks or pastures. They graze on cultivated grasses, often fertilized with non-organic manure, and sprayed with herbicides. Sheep are constantly rotated, disturbing their natural grazing instincts.

Range Grown: Raised on private, open ranges, containing only native grasses. Free range grazing on pastures approximately 5000 acres in size. Never confined or fenced in small paddocks. Nothing cultivated on the ranch, no fertilizers or herbicides.

Treated and or Contaminated Water: Sheep often drink water treated with chlorine or drink from contaminated springs.

Deep Well Water: Sheep drink only from natural, deep well water. There is no air, water, noise or ground pollution.

Lambing: Ewes are confined in small, enclosed paddocks, before, during and after giving birth.Orphan lambs are reintroduced into the flock and sold. Orphan lambs are usually stressed and do not produce a high quality meat.

Lambing: Lambing takes place naturally, in open, spacious pastures. The ewes are never disturbed, or confined. Sick and or orphaned lambs are always kept apart, nursed and sold separately.

Large Processors: Most distributors sell not only lamb, but beef, pork and poultry. Large scale production encourages a loss of control which may lead to contamination of product and inconsistencies in quality, service, and integrity. Overall treatment of the animal suffers.
